It is with appreciation and warm hearts that we announce the departure of Executive Director, Tim Ames, effective November 22, 2019.
Tim has been the Executive Director of Plan Institute since 2013, and has been instrumental in transforming the organization and establishing a strategic plan to set it on a solid path for the future. During his time at Plan Institute, Tim has worked collaboratively to seek new opportunities, cultivate new relationships, as well as nurture existing partnerships. He has actively engaged with both the provincial and federal governments to advocate for improvements to policy that will improve the financial well-being for vulnerable people across Canada. Tim is grateful to the board, staff team and for all of the friendships he has made over the last six years and wishes Stephanie success in her role as Plan Institute’s next Executive Director.
“It has been both an honour and a pleasure to work with Tim these past six years. Tim brought passion, vision and a personal commitment to enriching the lives of individuals with differing abilities and their families. Tim raised our profile, strengthened our relationships with colleagues and stakeholders and brought a structure of leadership to Plan Institute that will serve all the families who rely on the innovation and leadership of PI for years to come. I’m delighted to know that Tim will continue to contribute to the work of Plan Institute in other ways. We have been well served by Tim’s heart and wisdom.” -Ted Kuntz, former Board Chair
Although Tim will be leaving Plan Institute, he plans to continue to stay connected and to contribute to the organization in other ways. We would like to sincerely thank Tim for his dedication, passion, and commitment over the last few years, and for being such an inspiring leader.
“Plan Institute helps create better financial outcomes for the most vulnerable citizens and I am proud to have been a small part in that vital mission” -Tim Ames
In his place, we are thrilled to announce the appointment of Stephanie Debisschop as Executive Director. Stephanie has been with Plan Institute since 2012 and is currently serving as Director. Stephanie has worked very closely with Tim over the past few years, and we are confident and excited for her to move into this new role with ease and familiarity.
“I am extremely honoured to be embarking on this next phase of Plan Institute, alongside the board, staff, and the vibrant community of which we are a part. Contributing to the work that will ensure our families and friends affected by disability live a good life is something that I am profoundly grateful for. I look forward to beginning a new chapter with excitement and commitment to or shared vision.” -Stephanie Debisschop
Please join us in bidding farewell to Tim and welcoming Stephanie to the new role. We wish Tim all the best on his next endeavour, and look forward to working with Stephanie in a new capacity.
