Plan Institute is excited to announce a new webinar to help you understand and access the Canada Disability Benefit (CDB).
What is the Canada Disability Benefit?
The CDB is a federal benefit for low-income, working-age people with disabilities in Canada. It was established through the continued advocacy of the disability community. This federal benefit puts up to $200 every single month into the pockets of eligible people to support the costs of living with a disability.
Since the CDB launched in 2025, our Disability Planning Helpline has seen a surge of people seeking support and accessible information around the new benefit. We designed the CDB Webinar to help people across Canada understand and access the benefit.
The Canada Disability Benefit Webinar
The new Canada Disability Benefit (CDB) Webinar is free to attend and provides a clear breakdown of the CDB. Each session will end with a Q&A period, connecting attendees with a specialist to improve their understanding. Attendees will learn about:
- What the CDB is, and how much it is worth
- Eligibility criteria
- How to apply
- What happens after you submit the CDB application
This webinar includes pre-recorded ASL interpretation and closed captions embedded into the presentation. We are working on interpreting this webinar in multiple languages. Stay tuned for updates!
We now offer webinars on three major federal programs that support the disability community! If you are interested in learning more about the Disability Tax Credit and the Registered Disability Savings Plan, you can find upcoming webinars at planinstitute.ca/events.
We look forward to seeing you at our CDB Webinar
Our goal is to provide accessible support for disabled people navigating the benefits they are eligible for. The first session of our CDB Webinar will be held on Thursday, May 28, 2026, from 10 pm to 11:30 am PT. Click here to register for the first CDB Webinar.
