Starting in September 2026, the government will begin issuing one-time supplemental payments of $150 to recipients of the Canada Disability Benefit (CDB). The payment is intended to help offset the costs of applying for Disability Tax Credit (DTC), which is required to qualify for the CDB.

If you are approved for the CDB, or have received at least one CDB payment in the past, you should receive the $150 automatically. You do not need to apply for this supplemental payment.

Payments will be issued in two phases:

• September 17, 2026: People who received a CDB payment in at least one month between July 2025 to June 2026 will receive the $150 supplemental payment.
• Winter 2027: People who were approved for the CDB in July 2026 or later will receive the $150 supplemental payment.

The government has also indicated that individuals who need to be re-certified for the DTC may be eligible to receive the $150 for each approved DTC certificate that qualifies them for a monthly CDB payment.
